Affirmative Action: Database of Disabled Workers Available
By Sally Piefer On March 18, the Department of Labor announced that it was making a free database of job candidates with disabilities who are seeking jobs available to government and private sector employers. The "Workforce Recruitment Program, co-sponsored by DOL's Office of Disability Employment Policy and the Department of Defense, has a two-fold purpose -- it sends recruiters to campuses to interview eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students with disabilities, and it provides an online database that government agencies and private employers can use. Federal agencies can access the Workforce Recruitment Program database while other government employers and private sector firms should contact the department's employer assistance and recruiting network at 866-327-6669.
