Employers Can Continue to Use Current Form I-9
By Sally Piefer On June 26, 2009, the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that employers may continue using the current Form I-9 (Rev. 02/02/09) N – even though the form expired on June 30, 2009. Employers must use Form I-9 to verify the employment eligibility of new hires and to re-verify the eligibility of employees whose work authorizations expire.
