New I-9 Form Available
By Sally Piefer The Department of Homeland Security recently announced a new version of the
federal Form I-9, (Rev. 08/07/09) Y. This new form expires on August 31, 2012. The previous edition of the Form I-9, (Rev. 02/02/09) N, expired on June 30, 2009. Employers can use either the (Rev. 08/07/09) Y or (Rev. 02/02/09) N version of Form I-9 to verify the employment eligibility of new hires and to reverify the employment eligibility of employees whose work authorization have expired.
